This beautifully filmed, poignant story directed by Simon Curtis gives a rare glimpse into the relationship between beloved children’s author A.A.Milne (Domhnall Gleeson) and his son Christopher Robin (Will Tilston). At the end of the First World War A.A. Milne, suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome, abandons London for rural East Sussex where he intends to write an antiwar book but instead becomes inspired by his son’s toys and goes on to create the magical world of Winnie-the-Pooh, which brings him immediate and enduring celebrity. The book’s international success comes at a cost to the author, his wife and his young son who finds his perfect childhood put up for sale.
